Project management & engineering

At the beginning, we take note of your needs and requirements in a joint workshop and create a common understanding of your problem. We set goals and interim goals and define in a plan how and when we will achieve them. We communicate our project plan regularly and transparently with you. During this time, the ongoing development documentation grows into a complete and comprehensive final report.

Product development

As a key factor for the quality and cost of the series component, we pay a great deal of attention to mould design. By integrating toolmaking and series production in the design phase and focussing on the properties of the subsequent series component as early as the tool design stage, we produce the best tools.

Development of plastic-metal components

Product development in close collaboration with our experts in plastics technology and stamping technology. Plus a wealth of experience from our own series production. This enables us to develop plastic-metal components tailored to your needs - whether delicate lead frames and metal pins or solid busbars combined with plastic. To optimise cost-effectiveness, we tailor the component design to the most suitable manufacturing process for your quantity - whether 10 or one million.

System development

In product development, we take a holistic view of systems by considering all components and processes in an integrated manner. This includes close co-operation between mechanics, electronics and software as well as taking into account manufacturing and assembly processes in order to create optimal solutions.

Electronics & software with a network of external partners

We work closely with trusted partners in the development of electronics and software. This co-operation takes place in close coordination to ensure seamless integration of the mechanical components with the electronic and software-based systems. Materials consulting

The requirements for technical components and devices are complex and multi-layered. Added to this are the requirements for sustainability and product carbon footprint. Injection moulding simulations

The quality, costs and sustainability of a plastic component depend on the component design, mould construction and injection moulding process. The best result can only be achieved if all three factors are optimised. Our experts simulate consistently in every phase of the development process, from the customer enquiry to the determination of the series parameters. This enables us to set the course for a fast and stable start of series production at an early stage.

Structural-mechanical simulations

Structural-mechanical and thermal simulations carried out by our calculation specialists during development help us to design electrical contact systems, plastic components and assemblies. In this way, we verify development results at an early stage and save time-consuming testing on real components. If necessary, we take anisotropies and non-linearities into account. Parameter studies and DOE ensure robust systems.

INJECTION MOULDING PROCESS SIMULATION AS A SERVICE

The quality, costs and sustainability of a plastic component are largely determined by component design, mould design and the injection moulding process. As an additional service, we offer the design of near-contour temperature control channels based on the in-depth knowledge of our design engineers and many years of experience from our mould construction and in-house plastics production. In a holistic approach, we use an injection moulding simulation to evaluate the influence of temperature control on the entire injection mould, the temperature control unit and the injection moulding process.

As a developer and manufacturer of highly complex plastic-metal hybrid components, H&B Electronic has many years of experience in the design of injection moulds with near-contour temperature control channels and their use in series production. In its own additive manufacturing, H&B deliberately relies on the hot-work tool steel 1.2343, which is popular with many tool and mould makers. The advantages of this material: wear resistance, thermal conductivity, hot hardness, temperature resistance and polishability. It therefore fully meets our requirements for the quality and cost-effectiveness of our injection moulds and ultimately our plastic components. It therefore outperforms the material 1.2709 available on the market.
